OUR MISSION
Woodland Assembly of God (Who We Are) is a New Testament ministry of love, worship, and revival. We are called (Our Calling) to be a house of prayer for all, a ministry of salvation, healing, deliverance, and restoration, and a training ground for disciples of Jesus Christ. We are called to not only demonstrate His love (Our Ministry) but demonstrate His power through signs, wonders, and miracles so people will experience His goodness and His greatness. Our Mission Who We are Our Calling Our Ministry WE BELIEVE Go to Top WHO WE ARE--- Woodland Assembly of God is a church founded as a result of God touching lives at the Smith Wigglesworth - Oakland, California conference in 1904 and then unified with the Azusa Street Revival of 1906 (see December 1906 Azusa Street newsletter). We joined the cooperative fellowship known as the Assemblies of God in 1941. Today, we are committed to seeing the world transformed by the love and power of Jesus Christ. The leadership of our church has been greatly influenced by The Brownseville Revival, The Toronto Blessing, Bethel Church - Redding, California, and others who have been changed by the wonderful touch of God's Holy Spirit. We are excited about what God is doing in and through our church. Our meetings express the joy and gratitude of knowing God. He affects everything we do and we live to reflect all He is. Our desire is that all who visit or join us will experience the awesome reality of Jesus Christ through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, love, prayer, worship, the truth of the Bible, and the revelation of what God has done through the testimony of the saints as well as the revelation of what God is doing today in our midst and around the world. Thus, a lifestyle of prayer and extravagent worship are key aspects of our ministry. We know it's not enough to merely know about God, we must have God-experiences everyday for all our days. Christ is returning for a glorious overcoming bride - His Church. We understand that we are more than "sinners saved by grace", we are saints who are called sons and daughters of the King. So we expect to successfully fulfill the Great Commission - passing on revival from one generation to the next - even if the world grows darker in its last days. Revival is the personal, regional, and global expansion of God's kingdom through His manifest presence. We are not a culture club but we pursue being a culture-changing force. We desire to see the kingdoms of this world become the kingdom of our God. Salvation frees us from sin and sickness and the lies and torments of the devil. Yet each member of this family is encouraged to grow beyond their current potential through finding and fulfilling their God-given purpose. We understand that life is a journey and we are committed to ministering the full gospel of Jesus Christ to all ages and backgrounds. We value providing leadership and care to each adult, youth, and child. We are called to equip and send the church to carry on the works of Jesus. We embrace the biblical government of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers for the equipping of the saints. We set ourselves to impact every socioeconomic group & cultural realm in order that mercy & justice would reign because we realize we pastor a city, not just a group of people who meet in a church building. We believe every believer is a supernatural minister of the gospel of power whom signs, wonders, and miracles should follow. Jesus said we would do greater things than He and we take Him at His word. Jesus said, "Come, all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me for my yoke is easy and my burden is light and you will find rest unto your souls." "Rest for our souls" is not an invitation to retire into inactivity but to partner with God in turning this world rightside-up. It is our God-given directive. It is our destiny. Amen! He, though sinless, was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today, in the presence of God the Father and in His people. He is fully God and He is fully man. We are saved by God's grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting of sin, and believing and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, and adopts as sons and daughters as we enter the Kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit, who dwells in every Christian, enables them to live holy and minister supernaturally. The baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4 is poured out on believers so they might have power to witness. The victorious redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy's sin, lies, sickness and torment. The Church consists of all who live their lives in faith under the lordship of Jesus Christ. He gave His church the ordinances of Baptism and Communion. The Church exists to carry on Christ's ministry and advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God's love, discipling the nations, and baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God. In the ever-increasing government of God and in the Blessed Hope, which is the glorious visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His overcoming bride: His church. Heaven and hell are real places. WHO WE ARE---

OUR CALLING

WE BELIEVE

There is only one true God who is the eternal King, Creator and Redeemer of all that is. He is perfect, holy, just, merciful, loving and truthful. He has revealed Himself to be eternally self- existent - one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.

Humankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him; He is our Father. Yet we willfully rejected the lordship and glory of God and thus aligned ourselves with Satan, the enemy of our souls. Sickness, death and judgment entered the world as a result and now all creation experiences the effects and consequences of these actions (sin).
